We are non-profit organization based in Kigali-Rwanda, with a mission to contribute to the reduction of women’s cancers burden in Rwanda through public awareness, prevention, early detection, and supportive palliative care towards women at high risk, cancer survivors and their families

What We Do

community awareness

We educate communities about the importance of early cancer detection through different canals including TV talk shows, radio airing, journals, community works (Umuganda and other media channels) and community campaigns.

Patient Support Groups / Hands of hope

We run support groups in various districts which are comprised of peer to peer lead and group support of cancer survivors lead by a trained site coordinator. These two approaches are the hands of hope, a safe space where newly diagnosed patients receive support through shared testimonies on how to cope with the disease, management of cancer drugs side effects, boosting of self-esteem and where the sentence of death is changed into a sentence of hope.

Patients Navigation and Financial Support

We offer financial support to the poorest women to help them access essential healthcare services included but not limited to transportation fees, accommodation and meals, co-payment of cancer care services including diagnosis, imaging, chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy etc.

Economic Empowerment

The journey of seeking for cancer care leaves families into critical financial situation. WCRF ensures survivors’ financial reintegration, by supporting initiatives that help women in remission create sustainable income-generating activities through the provision of start-up capital and business coaching.
